As with Health Care Reform, the Students attending Coppin State University (CSU) will have more access to quality and affordable healthcare coverage during the 2014-2015 Academic Year.
In addition to the coverage that are now available in the new healthcare marketplace, eligible students will have the option of purchasing one of the three plans offered through CSU.
Plan A – is a supplemental plan intended to pay 100% of all services rendered at the Coppin State University Community Health Center (CHC). It also includes a modest outpatient, pharmacy benefit and term life insurance with accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) benefit for those students on high deductible health plans, out-of-state HMOs or other plans with an insufficient network in Baltimore, MD. Again, this plan is only intended for those students that may have other coverage that satisfies the Individual Mandates under HCR.
Plan B – is a comprehensive plan for International Students or those Domestic students that may wish to purchase supplemental coverage to offset their out of pocket costs under High Deductible Plans, out of state HMOS or plans with an insufficient local area provider network in the greater Baltimore Area. Although this plan will satisfy the Minimum Essential Coverage require set forth under Health Care Reform for this 2014-2015 academic period, domestic students are encouraged to purchase Plan C. Students not waiving coverage by the deadline, will by default be placed into Plan B.
Plan C – is a comprehensive plan for Domestic Students or International students seeking higher levels of coverage.
